Kotel_Minyin_Organizer:

After reading this blog and looking at the film about the Kotel (Jerusalem 1918) and learned how names of the dead were carved into the stones, I didn’t realize one thing until today afer 20+ years from organizing minyins at the Kotel. The minyin that I was in had a Gabie who was a Levi, an Hazan who was a Levi and the Rav (Rav Prahim Levi). After I set up the Tables and Chairs, I would wait for everyone to come to pray HaNetz. When the Hazan came, he would usually move the table a few centimeters either to the left or to the right. One day I asked him why he kept moving the table in a certain spot after I set it up. He pointed to a stone high up on the Kotel wall where in the stone was carved the name Levi.

Today, that same minyin is in the same spot but without the Gabie Levi, Hazan Levi but Rav Prahim Levi is still there.

Thank you for that film!!!

Yes, those stones are are over 2,000 years old! We learned a lot on how to honor what they stand for. A lot longer than 10 November 1775 USMC. Say when is Obama going to call off your coffee break drinking Turkish coffee and start back to work at what you’ve been trained for GraveDigger_USMC? I just can’t believe how you guys can stand to be told what to do by a Muslim?

Hey man BestFighter_IDF, I dig Marines. If you want something completely destroyed within 24 hours, just call the USMC. You guys over there at the Temple Mount could use a couple of us to level the Alaska Mosque or whatever it’s called. I’m ready.

Yes, Jerusalem has remained the capital of the Jews for thousands of years. Obama however, has changed the USMC into the United States Muslim Corps. Because the marines are not doing anything about it, they are digging their own graves.

To see the Kotel mixed with men and women brings this question to mind. Has the kotel today with divided sections for men/women represents a religious advancement or not?

6 DACON9 EDITOR// Feb 9, 2011 at 11:38 am

at that time THE KOTEL WAS NOT considered a HOUSE OF PRAYER.
It was an open place, a wall that anyone can walk past
with NO COURT YARD so just to stop and pray was acceptable. Same as today we can stop to pray anywhere we like.
NOW it is a courtyard so different religeous rules apply

as far as the Kotel not having dividers and Jews ppl davened intergrated……

The British forbade partitions or chairs…..
1967 is when partitions were put in place and chairs were present.
