In June this year, a man advertised for mechila in many publications. THIS MAN TOLD A YOUNG MAN USING HIS CELL PHONE IN THE LOBBY OF A SHUL TO GO OUTSIDE if he wants to use the cell phone as the prayers are not over yet. This was heard by several people which embarrased this young man on his cell phone.

The elder gentleman that spoke those words realized he may have embarrassed the young man. He was devasted what he did . He advertised in many Jewish publications asking if anyone who knows the young man to have him contact him.He went so far as to publically list his private telephone number in his need to apologize personally.

Now is our time to apologize to our friends and neighbors but for what? why are we apologizing if we dont know what we did..if we dont know what we did…..so many of us just go through life without forethought OR afterthought. How can we apologize if we dont know our deficiencies our weaknesse, how can we effectively apologize to appease return whole the well being that person had before we harmed them verbally or spiritually.. to statisfy the person and our accounting in the heavenly courts if we dont internalize what we give out and most of the time we give out arrogance among other painful things, even the raising of our eyebrow at the wrong time can cause pain to the other person.

Your spouse, your children your parents. Even ‘no’ response can hurt. Did you express compassion instead of nothing, Did you show any love or warmth or confidence that they can do the project? DID YOU CARE?

Sure we have to apologize for our arrogance, and sometimes our silence when we should have given rebuke to save someone from sinning. We have to study OURSELFS TO UNDERSTAND HOW WE ARE AFFECTING OTHERS. WE HAVE TO TAKE AN ACCOUNTING OF OUR OWN MISDEEDS AND DEEDS.

I was given a book called Cheshbon Ha Nefesh, an accounting of our souls. what is the meaning of this. why was this book given to me at this very time in my life. A time when I felt that I am and I want to go through a transistion to another level a higher level. I was not happy at this position and the wonderful people that is helping me get a jump start from the DIFFICULTY I was in mustve felt this in me..How and why did they know? what signals did I give off..How tuned are my new friends in to the heavens that they sensed my weakness? and why am I not in that spiritually higher level. The book written approx year 1840 tells me I did not study myself and how I affect people. HOW ABOUT YOU? are you studying yourself?

Many people are under the misconception that everything said is ”lashon hara’ , evil bad talk. is this true? Where is the line that separates rebuke for improvement to rebuke to satisfy our own ego…

Are we acting because of wanting to be right and wanting to be a bigshot or are we acting in order to improve ourself and our neighbor…EGO… ego is because of our insecurity….why and what are we insecure about…what did our parents do in raising us that gave us this weakness in our character, what fear did our friends or siblings or teachers instill in us to act as we do.

What is the difference between the students of Avraham Avinu and, the students of ; Bilam the wicked?
The students of Avraham eat in this world and inherit in the world to come, as it says, “To cause those who love me to inherit everlasting good , and I will fill their storehouses”(Mishlei 8:21.)
Because they follow in the path of Avraham, they are called “Those who love Hashem” as Avraham himself was : “The descendants of Avraham, who loved me. (Yeshayahu 41:8.)
They are called, “Those who love me, who will inherit everlasting good”.
One who has these three traits is among the students of Avraham Avinu , and one who has three other traits is among the students of Bilam the wicked. One with a good eye..is among the students of Avraham Avinu.
“A good eye” means generosity. Avraham Avinu was tremendously generous, as the verse attests; “He took a good and tender calf”, and served it to his aparently unworthy guests(Bereishis 18:7)
A HUMBLE SPIRIT.
As Avraham said, ” I am dust and ashes ( Bereishis 18:27)
He was not only humble before GD , he was even humble in his dealings with other people, as it says,” for this reason you have passed by your servant”
Avraham was addressing three men whom he took to be nomads, and yet he called himself their servant.
A MODEST SOUL.
This refers to one with a pure, clean soul, who has no desire to sin.
This was Avraham: he had no craving at all for worldly control over him, because he had a modest soul. We learn this from the verse, “The matter was very bad in Avraham’s eyes because of his son”(Bereishis 22:18)
When GD instructed him to send Hagar and Yishmael from his home, he was distressed only because his son was leaving, and not because Hagar would also be leaving. Even though she had previously been his concubine, he had no physical desire for her.
An evil eye-
Bilam said ,”even if Balak were to give me a house filled with gold(Bamidbar 22:18)
showing that he desired the possessions of others.
A COVETOUS SOUL
Bilam advised Balak to entice the Jews into immorality. He personally engaged in the sin with which he schemed to entrap them
One with a haughty spirit is among the students of Bilam the wicked.
This wicked man said,” for GD refuses to let me go with you”(Bamidbar 22:13)
He did not want to go with Balak’s emissaries because he did not consider them distinguished enough for his inflated ego.Balak understood the message and “Balak sent more officers, more distinguished than those”.
The students of Bilam the wicked will inherit Gehinom and descend to the pit of destruction.

Ask yourself..
There are four types among students:
One who is quick to learn and quick to forget-
his gain is outweighed by his loss. Slow to learn and slow to forget-his loss is outweighed by his gain.
quick to learn and slow to forget is wise, slow to learn and quick to forget-this is a bad portion.
The student who is quick to learn and quick to forget-his gain is outweighed by his loss:
The loss is of substantial measure, because he forgets what he has learned.What good does it do him that he grasps the material quickly, if he forgets it just as quickly? and yet, he should not stop learning. He will be rewarded for his efforts, because he has spent the day engaged in Gd’s work. This is comparable to a bucket with a hole in the bottom of it.
The student who is slow to learn and slow to forget , his loss is outweighed by his gain-
His reward is great. And he loses nothing by his difficulty in learning and understanding. He works very hard to achieve knowledge and comprehension, but after that, he will never forget what he has learned. In this way, he will acquire a great deal of knowledge.
In both cases, study brings great results. We learn this in Mishnah that one who remembers takes precedence over one who forgets.If they lack the means to support themselves and we can support only one scholar, or if there is some other circumstances that dictates that they cannot both learn, the one who is slow to forget has priority over the one who is quick to learn. In terms of knowledge, the effort of the slow learner is more worthwhile than of the quick learner, and he can go on to teach others.
Quick to learn and slow to forget is wise-
Even this student must review what he has learned many times and not rely on his memory. No one can remember forever without constant review and study. It is human nature to forget, and of what value is the learning once it has been forgotten? it is like planting without reaping.
Slow to learn and quick to forget- This is a bad portion-
Nevertheless, this student should still continue learning.because he will be rewarded for his efforts. Constant learning will also improve him to a greater or a lesser degree. Depending on his nature.
The mishnah does not describe these people as either pious or wicked, because man’s intelligence is not a matter of piety or impiety; it is a gift from Hashem.
As the philosophers say; “Understanding is a gift”.

What types of hidush are miqubal and what aren’t and who has the right to decide?

Here is another idea I have been considering. In the diaspora adherence to the rulings of the batei din, at least for most Jews who are not Orthodox is voluntary. And there is also a phenomenon of hazara besheela among Orthodox or former Orthodox, which creates another category of Jews for whom adherence would be voluntary. In Israel this is not the case – perhaps this is why some of the psakei din coming from the Rabbanut seem so kaved and so inhumane and cause so much tsuris. They have the power of the state and the financial backing of the Israeli state treasury and so some feel they can use it and abuse it with immunity. Also given that calling American Jews rich is pretty ironic.

THIS IS A VERY COMPLEX DISCUSSION BECAUSE :

Definitions must be clearly defined. Moshe Rabbeinu is the Rabbi of all Israel. No rabbi after R’Moshe Rabbeinu has a right or authority to argue or disagree with him. This fact teaches us that there are different levels, grades and extent of authority of rabbis.

Ancient rabbis similar to Rabbi Moshe knowledge of the basic principles of Torah are immutable and unchangeable. It doesnt matter what age we live in,the principles of Torah remains the same. For example, just as its forbidden to light a fire on shabbat, it is like wise forbidden to turn on a lightbulb on shabbat. In the former case, wood is burning, in the latter case a filiment is burning inside the bulb which is essentially the same. This reasoning is applied to all areas of the modern world based on the teachings of what conservative and reform call ”ancient rabbis.

This what King Solomon meant when he said ”There is nothing new under the sun” Therefore the ancient Rabbis were unparalleled giants of the mind and spirit who would make Einstien look like a grade schooler. Therefore the later Rabbis can only interprete what the earlier Rabbis say because they lack the wisdom, the depth and the spiritual insight to fully understand the Torah properly as compared with the earlier Rabbis.

The Talmud says as each generation passes we get spiritually and intellectually weaker. Therefore the orthodox Rabbis are just keepers and preservers of the unbroken chain that goes directly back to Moshe Rabbeinu to whose authority that the ONE GD OF ISRAEL commanded the future generation to adhere to.

Any deviation from this principle is not authentic Torah, is not Judaism and is not GDs will. Those so called leaders who have not followed this principle has created a man made psuedo religion which has no place in Judaism.

Many valid opinions are put forth by universally recognized and qualified authoritative Rabbis who adhere to these principles and the Torah tells us that we follow the majority of opinion. Halacha is not the chaotic fragmented mess that you have mistakenly thought it to be. Each opinion has its place and purpose that can be only determined by as described above by expert qualified Rabbis who know how to make sense of all of this.

If you are referring to specific cases then please elaborate your personal experience because all the above mention Rabbis have yirat shamayeem ,fear of GD and do not take their own personal agendas into consideration. They use the rules and laws as brought down by Moshe Rabbeinu to render a proper decision.

In every generation GD has gifted the Nation Of Israel with special unique Rabbis who is again universally recognizwed and accpeted as the wisest of thos generation for their talents in ability to understand and utilize properly Torah Law.

There is much to be said on this subject. This is just a brief answer.

I figured you were smart enough to figure out which Nachman I was referring to because you not only referred to him as a rabbi, but also because you referred to the posts we’d just been talking about him in.

The hypocritical thing on your part is that you expect me to give respect to a rabbi who violates God’s laws yet you yourself cast aside your respect for Tovia because you felt he did the same. You’ve mocked me as (you say) Jeremy and Tovia mocked you and yet feel justified to do so because you determine what the truth is. God required you to have just scales, not one set of you and one set for ‘outsiders’. As it is, your scales don’t balance and you’ve used unjust scales which God also condemns. “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight.”

Why should you have to look? I pointed you to the thread they were in as well as remind you of the discussion we just had regarding The Disputation of 1263. Seriously, I thought you were bright enough to put it all together. (And by gauging the traffic you get here, I can’t imagine you were so flooded with other comments that mine got lost in the crush).

And if you hear any antagonistic tone in my posts, it’s only because of the ringing in your ears from your constant shouting. So, again, what benefit is there in the commentaries? How have they helped you? You focus on the Second commandment while forsaking the rest. What have you corrected me with? Germany Shuts Down Mosque Once Used by 9/11 Terrorists

Germany has shut down a small Hamburg mosque once used by 9/11 terrorists and where a jihadist society prays and spreads an ideology that authorities say is “hostile to democracy.” Mohammed Atta, one of the suicide pilots in the 9/11 attacks, frequented the Taiba mosque, which investigators said has been a base for terrorists.

The heart is our spiritual center. The Torah instructs us to cut away the barrier of your heart (Devarim 10:16). After Klal Yisrael experienced the miracles of the Exodus from Egypt why would they give any credence to any power other than HaShem, the Master of the Universe?

In this material world in which we live the radiance of Hashem is hidden. No matter how clearly HaShem reveals Himself, once the revelation has passed, the soul is cast in darkness.
