_Muslim Union cuts benefits for Martyrs
 
Muslim suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-day strike next Monday in a dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the afterlife. Emergency talks with Al Qaeda have so far failed to produce an agreement.  
 
The unrest began last Tuesday when Al Qaeda announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after is death would be cut by 25% this February from 72 to 54.

I overheard this conversation in a store on 13 Ave Brooklyn NY.

The frum ( very religeous) hasid  gentleman wearing the usual european black clothing enters the store and I hear him ask for a bath towel . The store clerk pointed to a table full of bath towels.He examines every stitch every detail and studies the washing instruction label then the label showing the manufacturer and where it was made. He studied the towel the same way Einstien studied the universe. Each stitch each detail turning the towel over then holding the towel up to the light to see the pattern.

The store clerk asks him if he can be of any assistance. The hasidic man takes out his cell phone and fumbles with it trying to dial and the speaker goes on.

He talks in the phone and says..’mommy” is dis you?

and she answers ” nu… so who did you tink it vould be”

Our great american JEWISH  military, lifes on the line, sleeping in tents, sleeping on the earth, on soil of an oppressed people by a terrorist, an evil dictator and  knowing that after he and his fellow soldiers free these people from the torture ,rape rooms and beatings..those very people the just freed people  such as in  iraq will most likely  spit on and curse our American soldiers to get out of ”their country”. It wasnt ‘their country’ before our troops freed them and gave the woman rights to vote to drive cars and to work.

The American soldier fought and today fight for freedom for us to live on our great land of freedom and rights beyond any other country or dreams of any other foreigner can ever have.

We get angry because we got a parking ticket for not getting to the meter on time….THESE ARE OUR TROUBLES ………

Yet we still  get to touch the soft skin of our babies and touch our mothers and fathers and loved one…….

WHILE OUR GREAT MILITARY IS ON THE FRONT LINES WITH THEIR FLESH AND THEIR BLOOD….WITH THEIR FEAR  THEY BLOCK OUT,  WONDERING WHEN  THE NEXT TERROR SUICIDE BOMBER WILL HAPPEN AND WHERE? OR A ROADSIDE BOMB WILL EXPLODE OR SOME PREGNANT WOMAN WILL PULL OUT A KNIFE OR GUN TO STAB HIM TO DEATH….AND THE SOLDIER HAS TO THINK IF ITS OK TO DEFEND HIMSELF OR WILL HE GET COURT MARTIALED if he is still alive…

Then I get an email from a soldier out at sea or some manuevers wishing  ME,  A HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY.

 The Congressional Medal of Honor (CMOH) is the highest decoration an American military person can receive for outstanding heroism and bravery in battle. Eighteen Jews have received the CMOH. There are probably more as many are unknown because they enlisted under different names. As in the past, the future will reveal more names of the Jews who received the CMOH.
This exhibit tries to capture their heroism through the illustrations and the official citations of their bravery. It also refutes the lie “that Jews didn’t fight in any of our country’s wars.” Jews have fought in every skirmish, battle and war from the American Revolutionary War to Desert Storm. Observations on Soldier Life

THE LIFE OF AN ISRAELI SOLDIER IS…

 Sleeping on the floor of a public intercity bus while 50 cozy
civilians enjoy their seats;

Discovering that hobos are smart, in that cardboard really feels
like a mattress when trying to sleep on a concrete slab;

A 101.2 temperature is no reason you can’t pull guard duty

Discovering a new use for mil-spec night vision goggles:
stargazing;

Realizing that no matter how much you dream for weeks while on base

about the simple pleasures of civilian life, like dipping cookies
in milk, or drinking a beer with lime, your imagination will always

be infinitely more potent than reality;

Scanning the newspapers for your exploits, only to find
misinformation and truncation;

 Finding that scientific rules do not pertain to the army, like the
pack-a-day smoker who is the best runner in the platoon;

Waking up exhausted in the middle of the night to falling Kassam
rockets but not giving a damn, and certainly not enough to run to a bunker;

Watching red tracers light up the night unfazed

Experiencing unrivaled joy when having to eat kosher Spam plain but

miraculously finding ketchup;

Being called a ‘hero’ by a stranger on the street when all you
really did that week was work in the kitchen;

Finding that you hate your enemy most not when they attack, but
rather when they take away from valuable sleeping time;

Ignoring all the cool weapons and tanks and APC’s you dreamed about

seeing before the army because all you really want to do is be at
home, in bed, watching an action movie;

Wondering what real girls look like, since the ones that work
around infantry bases resemble armored Humvees more than anything
else;

Conversely, chatting with pretty Arab girls at checkpoints because,

eh, that’s the real challenge;

Looking in the mirror in full uniform and feeling ten feet tall and

bulletproof.

Although the military finally trained women pilots the services still played games with gender quotas, the pilot slots, combat exclusion laws and the type aircraft women were allowed to fly. From 1976 to 1993 women pilots were kept out of the cockpits of combat aircraft – in actual combat. Even though women aviators flew during Panama, Grenada and Desert Storm their presence was somehow “excluded” from combat records. Not until 1993 were women allowed to fly combat aircraft.

The first woman pilot in the United States flew in 1911 – it took the military 65 years to recognize and train women as pilots and another seventeen years to permit them to invade the sacrosanct area of combat aircraft. Gratefully the tide is turning. An all women Air Force Fly Over team was present at the dedication of the Women’s Memorial in 1997. A female Air Force Colonel – Eileen Collins – was the first woman to command a space shuttle mission in 1999. Air Force B-52′s and Navy Tomcats are being flown by women.

Finally – the sky is not the limit for women in the military!  During Desert Storm the first woman pilot gave her life while flying in a combat zone. Major Marie T. Rossi died at age 32 on March 1, 1991, when the Chinook helicopter she was piloting crashed near her base in northern Saudia Arabia. The unit she commanded was among the very first American units to cross into enemy held territory flying fuel and ammunition to the rapidly advancing 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. Major Rossi is buried in Arlington Cemetery where her simple epitaph there reads “First Female Combat Commander To Fly into Battle

Another of the first American woman to fly in combat in the ’90s was Lt Col.Martha McSally, ranked as the top female Air Force pilot. Lt Col McSally was among the first women trained by the Air Force as a fighter pilot. During a 1995-96 tour of duty in Kuwait, she became the first woman in military history to fly a combat sortie in a fighter aircraft. She also flew more than 100 combat hours on an A-10 Warthog attack plane over Iraq in the mid-1990s, and served as a flight commander and trainer of combat pilots.

In 1993 when Secretary of Defense Les Aspin opened combat aviation to women, including enlisted female aircrew members, allowing women to fly combat missions, opportunities opened even more for women pilots and crew members. With these new opportunities female pilot numbers are increasing steadily with more and more women completing pilot training.

Today, in the war against the Taliban and al-Qaida targets in Afghanistan and Iraq, women are filling aircrew positions as bomber pilots, navigators, tanker pilots, and weapons officers – those who specialize in operating in flight arms – loadmasters, and varied officer and enlisted aircrew positions.

In the 2004 Air Force 19.6 % of the force was female.
*18.2 percent of the officers were women and 20 percent of the enlisted corps was women.
* 60.2 percent of the female officers are line officers; 39.8 percent are non-line.
*The population of women in the Air Force was 73,074.
* Women first began entering pilot training in 1976, fighter pilot training in July 1993 and navigator training in 1977.
*2004 there were 519 (3.8 percent) female pilots and 195 (4.1 percent) female navigators and over 600 enlisted crew members.

THE PRESIDENT’S DESCISION TO AVOID ARLINGTON ON MEMORIAL DAY:
 
Even if he participates in some event in Chicago’s local National Cemetery, does it say anything that President Obama is skipping out on Arlington on Memorial Day?  Since 1992, with the exception of President Bush honoring veterans one year in Normandy on this date, all presidents have visited Arlington on Memorial Day.
Does this say anything about his relationship with the military?  Some have pointed out that every call he makes to youth for national service has omitted military service.  I served my early days, of my active duty time under President Clinton, who was nothing short of honest about avoiding Vietnam, and ultimately, I think he worked hard to demonstrate his support for the troops to make up for that.  I definitely don’t believe President Clinton would have skipped Arlington if he were currently presiding over two wars where troops are dying on a weekly basis.
