THIS STORY WAS TOLD TO ME ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO IN MY HOME TO A MENS CLASS. BY A GREAT RABBI THAT OPENED CONGRESS 4 TIMES.
There was a farmer who had a mule that was more stubborn then usual. The farmer tried many different ways to train the mule to do certain chores to no avail. Finally the farmer decided to hire a mule trainer.
The next morning the mule trainer met the farmer on the farm with the mule at their side. After haggling over the price to train the mule, the farmer and the trainer shake hands in agreement of terms.
The farmer steps back as the trainer advised. Then the trainer goes into his bag taking out a hammer with the farmer looking in confusion and shock.
Then the mule trainer drew all the way back with the hammer in his hands and took a big wide swing with the hammer onto the mules head almost knocking the mule out.
The mule wobbled away and almost kneeled down looking at the trainer in his eyes.
The farmer yelled at him saying ”I hired you to train my mule not to kill him”
The trainer said in a soft calm voice.. ”IF YOU WANT ME TO TRAIN THE MULE….. FIRST I HAVE TO GET HIS ATTENTION”’ . AND SO PEOPLE…. NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION.. WHAT ARE YA DOIN’ WITH THE CONTENT OF MY MESSAGE? what are ya doin’ about improving yourself to be a light to your neighbor, to your soul, to your family? WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE ON THE EARTH? IS ANYONE DOING ANYTHING MEANINGFUL? EVERY MINUTE IS SO IMPORTANT ITS GONE LIKE A COMMERCIAL ON RADIO LIFE IS ONLY A FLEETING MOMENT YOU DONT KNOW IT UNTIL THE COMMERCIAL STARTS AGAIN AFTER THE COMMERCIAL……. THEN THE REAL SHOW STARTS, THE SHOW IN THE NEXT WORLD IN OLAM HABAH WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT OURSELFS? notice I many times I dont have periods to end the sentence? because this is supposed to be your new beginings… start it up NOW !
