7) Church Attack on Judasim

sent by reader: PUMPKIN,

Hello, Dacon9,

PLEASE do whatever you can to get word out about this (below)
and mobilize against the latest antics of the Presbyterian church.
I am a Presbyterian who is sick and tired of the very liberal leadership in the church continuing to pick on Israel, even though it goes against the vast majority of rank-and-file Presbyterians and, of course, against the very word of G-d himself.
.
We had a big problem a few years ago when they were trying to divest from Israel, and now this.  Here we go again.  Please encourage people to contact the Presbyterian leadership (through the links in the e-mail) to put pressure on them to stop this dangerous nonsense.
Also, HAPPY PURIM to you.

Presbyterian Church USA Ready to Declare War Against Israel:
Take Action Now

At 2010 Jerusalem Conference, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; Jewish community leader Melanie Rechnitz; and Rabbi Cooper, who spoke on: “Goldstone Report and Lawfare’s Anti-Israel Theological Twin”

A group of activists hostile to Israel, including theologians and others in some prominent Protestant churches have launched a dangerous campaign to use theology to delegitimize the Jewish State and her supporters. They may be only days away from putting the policy of a large Protestant denomination on a collision course with Israel’s survival — unless we raise our voices in protest.

This comes just as Israel’s right to defend her citizens is denounced as ‘war crimes and crimes against humanity’ by the UN’s Goldstone Report; when Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon was verbally attacked at Oxford University with chants of “Slaughter the Jews”; and when screaming Muslim “activists” tried to silence or censor the speech by Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, at the University of California, Irvine. ( READ ARTICLE )

Rabbi Abraham Cooper: Liberal Protestant churches pose growing threat to Israel

In 2004, The Presbyterian Church in the US (PCUSA) became the first mainline
Protestant denomination to approve a policy of divestment from Israel. Unpopular with church members, it was later rescinded.

But in 2008, church leaders supposedly seeking to balance PCUSA’a Middle East policies, instead, created a committee dominated by seven activists holding strong anti-Israel beliefs. The lone member sympathetic to Israel, quit in protest when he saw their radical agenda.

Here’s what we know about their report from a press release leaked by the committee last month:
•the report calls for the US to withhold financial and military aid to Israel

•it apologizes to Palestinians for even conceding that Israel has a right to exist

•it declares that Israel, if defined as a Jewish State, must be inherently racist

•it embraces the Kairos Palestine Document, produced by Palestinian Christians, calling for boycott and sanctions against Israel and endorses full Palestinian ‘right of return‘ to Israel which would lead to the demise of the Jewish democratic state

•it denies any connection between biblical covenants and the Jewish people. Israel’s history, it claims, begins only with the Holocaust, a nation mistakenly created by Western powers at the expense of the Palestinian people to solve the ‘Jewish problem’
Adoption of this poisonous document by the Presbyterian Church will be nothing short of a declaration of war on Israel and her supporters.

It will be negatively impact interfaith relations, and could have significant repercussions in the political domain, with 46 Members of the US Congress and Senate who are Presbyterians.

And these initiatives, encouraged by the Geneva-based World Council of Churches, will cause a ripple effect on other denominations.

Which is why we urgently ask you to do two things:

1) Protest directly to the top leadership of the PCUSA  urging them to stop this dangerous campaign which denies the legitimacy and security of Israel.

2) Reach out to your Presbyterian friends and ask them to speak out against this potential rewriting of PCUSA’s policy towards Israel that will destroy the era of good will that has been fostered with the Jewish community for decades.

There are many staunch friends of Israel in PCUSA whose voices are being drowned out by a few determined activists, who are relentlessly pursuing a radical political anti-Israel agenda.

Act now: It is not too late for you to make a difference.

What is the purpose of this World and the Jews in History

The Hebrew world for “world” is “Olam.” Olam has another meaning in Hebrew which means hidden. Every Hebrew word teaches a lesson and the lesson of the word Olam – hidden – teaches that G-d is hidden in this world and that the world seems to run through the laws of nature. G-d intentionally runs the world this way so that man can earn his closeness to G-d through using his free choice to choose to come close to G-d. The Talmud teaches that G-d does not want to force man to do anything against his will.
King David tells in us in the book of Psalms that although G-d is hidden from view in this world if one looks more closely one can find G-d within nature, history, and world events. In other words, G-d makes His existence known indirectly in this world through nature, world politics, and through His beloved chosen people, the Jewish People.
The Torah (Bible) has made many predictions about what will happen from the beginning of time until the end of time, until the Messiah (the Jewish King appointed by G-d to save the world) will come to save the world. Many thousands of years ago G-d told the world through the Torah, the Jewish prophets, and the Rabbis what will happen throughout history. Every single prediction made by G-d, of the hundreds of predictions, has come true. No other religion or wise men have ever made predictions that have come true like the predictions made by the Jewish prophets.
Now I will give a very short summary of the main predictions made by the Jewish prophets thousands of years ago so one can understand the direction and purpose of what is happening in the world from ancient times until this very day. G-d chose Abraham, the first Jew, and all of his children after him to fulfill G-d’s mission. That mission is to tell the world that G-d exists. G-d told Abraham and many other Jewish prophets that followed him that the Jews will come to own the holy land of Israel forever. G-d told Abraham and the Jewish prophets that eventually the Jews will learn from some of the bad ways of the non-Jews and come to sin against G-d. In order to save the Jews from falling away from G-d and to let the other nations of the world learn about G-d, He destroyed the holy Temple in Jerusalem and sent the Jews into exile to be scattered to the four corners of the world. There is no land or place that does not have at least one Jew living there. G-d said that no matter what happens to the small Jewish people they will always be important in the eyes the other nations. Every major event that happened in history the Jews were involved in. The Torah also predicted that the Jews would suffer more than any other nation in the world and despite their terrible suffering they would survive and live to be saved by G-d at the end of time. The Torah also predicted that many mighty nations throughout history, much stronger than the Jews would hurt the Jews, but then at the right time, those nations would be destroyed and disappear from the earth. We see that such mighty countries that hurt the Jews such as Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, Persia, Greece, Rome, and others are gone and lost forever while the Jews are still alive just as G-d promised thousands of years ago. When the entire world learns about G-d through the Jewish people then G-d will send the King Messiah, who is a descendant of King David to save the Jews and the world.
Crying over the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem on Tisha B’Av (the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av) reminds us that although we were punished for our sins by losing the Temple and losing the land of Israel that we will someday rebuild the Temple. Today, 5 million Jews live in the land of Israel. This is humanly impossible. No other people was away from its land for over 2,000 years and then came back to rebuild it. No other people was so hated and attacked by all of the nations of the world and lived through every suffering like the Jews. This is an open miracle. Just as G-d had promised, that the Jews would live through every type of suffering and come back to rebuild its land. In every country of the world, wherever the Jews have lived, they have always been both important and hated by everyone. Why has the small Jewish People always been treated this way? It is because those who hate the Jews really hate G-d. G-d has promised, although many Jews will be lost, there will always be Jews in the world and G-d will protect them so that the Jews will live forever and this promise has been kept. We are now at the time called “the end of days” right before the coming of the Messiah. Many things will happen in the world that will change the world forever. One of those things is that all of the Jews will be brought back to the land of Israel to live a good and peaceful life. There the Jews will grow to have millions of children and become a large people. The nations of the world will then come to see the truth about the Jews and come to love and respect them and the Jews will never be hurt again by the other nations and they will live in peace and happiness forever.
